friday afternoon, and the “social justice” bar is open. all participants welcome, but please no pie. our objective is to keep abreast of the destruction that the gop plans, and to plan ways to stop it. we also have been known to go way off topic and talk about sports, food, cats/dogs, etc. iow, this is a group of like minded people who get along. we welcome all newcomers (to the new faces we’ve been seeing, welcome aboard!), the more we have in this fight against taking us back to the 1600’s, the better.
another week down. as expected, the EC did what the EC does. and tbh, rightfully so. i don’t like the fact that he is peotus, but i also did not want this to turn into “the EC does what it wants”, as the law of unintended consequences almost always comes into effect.
i still don’t care about the dnc chair, and care even less now that it is apparent that all involved have a firm grasp on reality. i just want that to be over. it is a distraction, and we don’t need distractions.
our “job” right now, and a few of us have been beating this drum (much credit to rugbymom for beating it HARD), is to focus on confirmations. call your senators. make them know how much we object to this. it would appear as if our senate leadership has a handle on this, we need to support them and push others. i have quite a bit of faith in chuck.
i believe many are coming around to realizing that now that the dog has caught the car, the ACA is going nowhere. this was predicted. it is easy to chase the car. it’s not so easy to do something with it once you catch it. they are going to obstruct themselves on this, we just need to nudge every now and then.
this doesn’t mean we still won’t have plenty of battles on our hands. we need to protect many things. it is up to us to do it. won’t be easy, and we are going to lose some of them.
